School Board Responsibilities

  • Board members are expected to:

    • Establish the mission and strategic direction of the Tigard-Tualatin School District
    • Hire and evaluate the superintendent
    • Establish district policies and adopt district budgets
    • Set goals and evaluate progress toward those goals
    • Advocate for public education within our community and with state and federal legislative leaders
    • Guide collective bargaining

    Effective board members execute their responsibilities through active participation in our communities and authentically learn from our students, educators and district leaders. To accomplish those goals, board members are active in many committees and organizations.  Below are board assignments for the 2020-21 school year.
